Despite the character being showcased so differently from the manga, fans still love her, and they were moved to tears when they saw her in the finale because of how Eren Jaeger’s death weighed her down.
Naturally, the character is kept in high regard by the fans of the series. Hence, the entire fandom went nuts when a fan page (@anime_fen_boi) on Instagram shared Shayu Jimu’s cosplay, where she featured her rockhard abs and accurate costume while doing her workout.
The page praised her by calling her “Lore accurate Mikasa Ackerman.” That’s not all, because the post received an overwhelmingly positive reaction from male fans of the series.
They kept her on a high pedestal as they sang praises of the cosplayer, with some even proposing to her for marriage.

Hajime Isayama Gets Candid on The Tragic Tale of Love Between Mikasa and Eren
While Isayama-San’s magnum opus is renowned for a ton of aspects, love and care are not one of them. Despite the series showcasing random fits of affection and fondness, these aspects were not given much importance by the manga artist himself.
Fans of the series would often desire that Mikasa and Eren had a better relationship between them. Though Ackerman’s emotions were quite visible to the fans, Eren confessed his emotions at the conclusion of the show.
Hence, it is considered to be one of the most heartbreaking tales in the entire anime and manga history. During an exclusive interview with Crunchyroll, Hajime Isayama shared the real reason behind making their relationship so tragic. He said,
Number one, it was embarrassing to me to write stories about love between characters. The other reason is that if I continued to go into those kinds of tangent stories, we might lose focus on the immediate main plot of the story. So I wasn’t really motivated to go in that direction.
The manga artist felt that focusing on a sub-theme would have affected the narrative of the series. Moreover, he was embarrassed to introduce more love interests into his stellar work.
