What Is Shown During The Baldur’s Gate 3 Cartoon Clip?

Baldur's Gate 3 Gets Hilarious Cartoon Alongside PS5 Launch
Baldur’s Gate 3 released a brand-new cartoon commemorating the PS5 launch.

During this relatively short clip, we see four of our potential companions from Baldur’s Gate 3 standing in front of a purple portal. Those companions are Astarion, Gale, Shadowheart, and Karlach, and their intention is to travel through this portal to enter a land known as “launch” in some form of multi-versal trip that brings them from “early access” into a new world.

As our companions traverse the portal and end up in the world of “launch” they encounter some familiar faces as they encounter copies of themselves, but with a few changes. Throughout this entire set piece, the characters are constantly making jokes, pretty much breaking the fourth wall as their “launch” selves explain they are the newer version of the characters and their “early access” selves will be left behind.

Eventually, this leads to the ultimate demise of the “early access” companions as a fire-breathing dragon called “quality assurance” wipes them and many more glitches from existence. Now, thanks to this hilarious cartoon, many fans of Baldur’s Gate 3 are hoping this trend continues and are hoping there will be a mini-series of these videos as the game evolves, which would definitely lighten the mood in the future.

How Did Mashed And Larian Collaborate In This Cartoon Clip?

Baldur's Gate 3 Gets Hilarious Cartoon Alongside PS5 Launch
Mashed and Larian collaborate to create another comedy cartoon for Baldur’s Gate 3.

For those who may not know, Mashed is a rather popular YouTube channel and is also a part of Channel 4 with its own mini-series. It is well known for creating hilarious comedy parodies regarding Cartoons, Gaming, and Geek Culture, which explains how they have joined forces with Larian to create such a unique comedy video for the games launch on PS5.

However, Larian has brought the star power on its end of this collaboration as it has brought with it the official voice actors for each companion to play their parts once again in this comedy cartoon. Clearly, both Mashed and Larian have been let loose with this cartoon as they make fun of glitches from the game and subtle changes to certain character designs and even going to the extent of making fun of the common multiverse obsession in recent media.

This isn’t the first time that Larian and Mashed have collaborated on a video for Baldur’s Gate 3 as there was also a video displayed back in June which had other companions involved. This could be a sign that there is potential for more videos in the future especially when Baldur’s Gate 3 arrives on Xbox consoles either this year or early 2024.
