The Baldur’s Gate 3 player community has been gripped by a violent turn of events that is sending shockwaves through everyone. A player of Larian’s newly released RPG has succumbed to the Dark Urge roleplay and embarked on a horrifying journey of killing every NPC from Act 1 in the game. What makes this campaign even more chilling is the macabre result made by the gamer, a house turned into a warehouse for the remains of targets meticulously classified by their races.

The Roleplay of Dark Urge Was Taken So Seriously That a Player Killed Every NPC in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3 and Still Stored the Bodies in Just One House

A Baldur’s Gate 3 player embraced Dark Urge so much that he eliminated every NPC from Act 1

As noted, a Baldur’s Gate 3 player took the role of Dark Urge to the extreme, killing virtually every NPC in Act 1 of the game, and also storing and sorting their bodies in just one house. This is a disturbing reminder of how free each player is to make their own choices in the world of Baldur’s Gate 3, however unpredictable or bleak they may be, and also just how deep one can delve into the roleplaying.

For those unfamiliar, Dark Urge is a pre-made character in Larian Studios’ RPG who has an inner, insatiable desire to do terrible things as he progresses through the game’s narrative. When playing this character, the player is tempted by this raging desire in the dialogue options and inclined to have it consume his mind bit by bit. In the case of this example, the temptation was completely successful.

The Dexerto website reported that the Reddit user, caufenkamp, shared this violent journey with the Baldur’s Gate 3 community and only seeing the image is possible to believe. However, if you go looking for the image, be aware that it has sensitive content and is not safe to open around co-workers or relatives.

The digital maniac, caufencamp, had to carry his victims for miles across the vast explorable territory in Baldur’s Gate 3 and also sorted all victims by their race or creature type into just a single square. While the player admits that some animals and creatures would “disappear” from there, it was confirmed that every NPC was indeed in the house, body by body. Lastly, caufencamp also installed a weight loss mod to make it easier for victims to carry around.

Many of the comments on the publication questioned the motivation of the player’s actions, but he justifies himself by saying that this is:

“A cool way to have a visualization of everyone you fight in a game”

Furthermore, it shows a macabre dedication to emerging in the origin story and interpretation of the cursed Dragonbron.

It’s striking to note that Larian’s systems for the game do not get rid of elements like these bodies, when the character leaves the vicinity as is common in many other games. This one leaves them there indefinitely, allowing changes to the world made by each player that are permanent for future visits.

And this sprawling virtual reality that is the world of Baldur’s Gate 3 is just getting started, with little release time and many possibilities still to be explored. Larian’s RPG is now up and running for every gamer willing to travel through fantastical medieval lands.

What do you think about this? Do you think this player did wrong? Are you already enjoying Baldur’s Gate 3? Let us know in the comments!
