Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden provides dynamic gameplay through its two protagonists, Red and Antea, as they search to find answers between the worlds of the living and the dead. In the game, which is set in the 17th century, the characters traverse the land entirely on foot, which makes the map feel even bigger compared to titles of similar size.

While there is plenty to do between the story and side quests, there are also some puzzles players will want to discover. Knowing where they are located is essential to avoid unnecessary travel that might eventually feel like a waste of time.

Those who are aiming to cross everything off the completion panel will want to find The Haunted Grounds that exist within the game. Finding and finishing all four challenges not only unlocks the Raider trophy, but gets players one step closer to collecting all of the achievements.

A Step by Step Guide to Completing The Haunted Grounds Puzzle in The Dark Woods

In the Northeast portion of The Dark Woods, you will find one of the four Haunted Grounds locations. While this particular puzzle requires Antea to have learned both the Outburst and Ensnare abilities to reach it, the path is not hard to find. A golden question mark will appear on the map once the clouds have been cleared away, and if you select it as a waypoint, the compass should guide you right to it.

Upon arriving at The Haunted Grounds, the first thing you will need to do is use Outburst to destroy the wall that guards it. Once the wall is down, walk to the left as Antea and use the teleportation option to cross to the other side.

You can then break through a piece of wood that blocks the path and jump across. The path will split, and at this point you will want to travel to the right and climb down.

When reaching the bottom, Antea will announce that ghost wards are in the area, preventing her from using her powers. The next step will be to turn around from the bottom and destroy all three wards to free her from their grasp.

The first ward is very easy to find and is right along the path in front of you, from where you just climbed down. Stay as Red and shoot the ward with your musket in order to destroy it. Once the first ward is destroyed, follow the path between the rock where it was hanging.

When you reach the end of the path it will split again. Turn to your right and look down in order to find the second ward, which is also hanging between a large rock. Again, all you will need to do is shoot the ward.

Once destroyed, turn around and go the other direction of the split path. When you get to the end, turn to your left and you will see a collapsed bridge hanging from a rock formation. Near the top of the rock is a hook, which is keeping the bridge from falling. You will want to shoot it with Red’s musket.

Upon shooting the connector, the bridge will fall, and the third and final ghost ward will reveal itself near the bottom of the rock. Once it has been destroyed, Antea will get her powers back and you can move on to the second half of this puzzle.

Next, you will want to go back to where you destroyed the second ghost ward, and switch to Antea in order to teleport between the rock.

Once you are on the other side, turn around and hit the glowing creeping ivy with Antea’s ensnare ability, which will open up orbs that you need to shoot with Red’s musket.

As soon as the ivy had been hit, turn left and run all the way to the other side of the path. Once there, look to your right (towards the central rock formation) and you will see a glowing orange orb on the right side of the formation. You will want to shoot it.

There will also be an orb on the left side of the formation as well, and you will want to shoot it quickly.

This is a timed portion of the puzzle, so after activating the ivy, you need to shoot the orbs as quickly as possible. While it may seem like a bit of a sprint, there should be plenty of time to get both shots off.

When both orbs are destroyed, the vine will disappear to reveal a path for Red. You do not need to go back. Simply look in front of you and jump across to the newly formed area, climb up the wall to the right, and then immediately turn to the left and climb a small ledge.

This will lead you to yet another teleportation location, which ends at the top of a rock formation with the hidden treasure.

Congratulations! You have found The Haunted Grounds treasure and solved the puzzle.

If you were curious about the rewards inside the treasure chest, you will find the Triple Resilience brooch, which comes in the remarkable tier. Once you are finished, step to the right of the chest and use one more teleport to go back to the beginning and exit The Haunted Grounds.
