Being body shamed in the film industry is something no one is exempted from at this point. While men in Hollywood have their own, different standards to meet, interviewers and media in general are more daring and outwardly spoken when it comes to the bodies of women. This is something that, unfortunately, Theron also has to face in her day-to-day life.

“My face is changing, and I love that my face is changing and aging,” she says. But “people think I had a facelift. They’re like, ‘What did she do to her face?’ I’m like, ‘Bitch, I’m just aging! It doesn’t mean I got bad plastic surgery. This is just what happens.’”

Theron mentioned that, with age, the way her face looks has become quite different. While this is something she adores, stating that she likes it quite a lot, the actress has been subjected to the public speculating that she go plastic surgery that ended poorly, resulting in the way she looks today. This irritated the actress quite a bit as she is simply aging and this is what happens when someone ages.

“we were surrounded by older, white men, and we knew the movie we were making, but they didn’t. I remember one night, three weeks in, our financier calls. He had obviously tried Patty first, but I was stupid enough to pick up the phone at 3 a.m. He was like, ‘I just got the dailies and you’re so fat and so ugly and you never smile.’” she stated
