It is always nice and kind of heartwarming to see actors being such close friends, especially if they have been part of the same fictional universe before. One such example of the previous statement is Dwayne Johnson and Jason Momoa, as the friendship between the two is quite popular. Although the two have never been in front of the camera together, they sure have remained close friends for a long, long time.

Both Dwayne Johnson and Jason Momoa have been a part of the DC Universe with the former being Black Adam and the latter being Aquaman. Of course, Dwayne Johnson’s DCU run was quite short-lived unlike that of Jason Momoa, who has been a part of a few DCU movies and has Aquaman 2 coming out soon. Jason Momoa sure hopes that one of these days he gets to share the screen with his long-time pal as the pair’s friendship grows deeper and deeper.

Every actor has that one artist they want to collaborate with and for Jason Momoa, that is Dwayne Johnson. Momoa appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where he discussed with host Jimmy Fallon that he has been wanting to do a film with Johnson for quite some time now. However, he added that while they did try to turn the wish into a reality, Johnson was too busy for it. When Fallon insisted that the duo just HAD to make a film together, Momoa replied that one day it’s going to happen, mostly because Johnson owes him.

“We tried to get together and make a movie together but it’s just he’s way busier than I am and I’m pretty busy right now so, one of these days…We will! And it’s really cool because now he’s kind of in my pocket so I can call him up and be like, ‘Yo!’ and I got him.”

Johnson and Momoa have been pals for over two decades now. Their worlds collided when they met in Hawaii thanks to a mutual friend. Since both of them are incredible assets to the entertainment industry, it sure would be amazing to see them star in a film together. If things were a bit different over at the DC Studios, then maybe they could’ve played their super-powered characters in the same film. Unfortunately, that might not be the case anymore.

Johnson’s daughter, Tiana Jia Johnson, loves and adores Momoa’s Aquaman, and anyone who follows the wrestling world legend on social media is aware of this fact. So when Aquaman himself wished Tiana on her third birthday, she was beyond elated. Back in 2021, Momoa wished Johnson’s daughter a very happy birthday in the most special way possible which had everyone going, Aww..!”

Instead of sending a birthday text on Johnson’s phone, Momoa filmed himself wishing his daughter a happy birthday and promising that he’ll one day go rock climbing and surfing with her. The Game of Thrones actor stated, “I’m sorry I couldn’t be there but I love you and tell your papa that I love him too.”

Johnson posted the video on his Instagram thanking Momoa in the caption saying, “I love you back…this kind of stuff will ALWAYS be the best part of our fame…thanks for having my back – I’ll always have yours. #Ohana.”

Anyone who has seen Lilo and Stitch knows that “Ohana means family.” If Momoa being a part of Johnson’s family isn’t heartwarming then we don’t know what is. Here’s hoping the two unite for a film soon!

You can watch Aquaman and Black Adam on HBO Max.
