Carrie Fisher passed away in December 2016 while she was traveling on a flight from London to Los Angeles. Her fellow passengers noticed that she was not breathing, and she was declared dead after spending four days in the ICU. Unfortunately, the following day, Carrie Fisher’s mother also passed away due to a stroke.

Due to her prosperous career, Fisher amassed a sizeable fortune, which was passed on to her daughter, Billie Lourd. The late actress’ final assets, estimated at $25 million, include luxury vehicles, personal items, and bank accounts.

In addition to these, the proceeds from Fisher and Reynold’s Star Wars memorabilia were donated to Debbie Reynolds’ pet charities: The Jed Foundation and The Thalians. Both organizations are dedicated to addressing mental illness and providing support for those affected by it.

Carrie Fisher was honored by her daughter, Billie, and fans, when she was awarded a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in May 2023.

Moreover, Carrie Fisher’s siblings expressed their objection when they were left out of Fisher’s Walk Of Fame ceremony. Lourd explained her decision not to invite them in a statement. She said that her mother’s siblings made the decision to publicly express their grief and take advantage of her mother’s death.
