Years before Ben Affleck’s Gone Girl took the world by storm, Harrison Ford’s Presumed Innocent is what attracted the audiences to the screen with its gritty murder thriller adventure story. Surprisingly, the plots of both movies are shockingly similar. Whether it’s by accident or not is up for debate, as the makers never discussed Ford’s movie as the inspiration behind the 2014 film. Somehow, even though they have not worked together at all in their long and extensive careers in Hollywood, both actors have managed to have more than one thing in common.

Ben Affleck and Harrison Ford’s 24-Year Apart Movie Deja Vu!
Although the two movies, Gone Girl and Presumed Innocent, charmed audiences in two different decades, both were successful in their own right. Fans years later can’t help but notice the uncanny similarity between the two movies. First, to get it out of the way, both Ben Affleck and Harrison Ford played the parts of the accused husbands. The rest, fans can judge by the plot.
The plot of both of the films goes like this, the central character faces an accusation of murder and of their ex-lovers. In both films, as the story unfolds it is revealed that the wife orchestrated the crime, and their ultimate motive was to frame their husbands.
And surprisingly, at the conclusion of each story, everything works out since, the husbands decide against divorce or pressing charges, recognizing their own flaws.
And although it is bizarre to think about, it is quite common in Hollywood to unknowingly repeat stories and sometimes even in the same year, such as Armageddon and Deep Impact or The Illusionist and The Prestige. However, this isn’t the only thing the Batman actor and the Indiana Jones actor have in common.

Another Similarity between Ben Affleck and Harrison Ford
Both actors, in addition to portraying accused husbands, have taken on the role of Jack Ryan in their careers. Ben Affleck starred in The Sum of All Fears, while Harrison Ford played Jack Ryan in Patriot Games. Adding another interesting tidbit from Gone Girl, on top of all the things is the DVDs seen on Greta’s dresser during a news report including Patriot Games, which features Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan.
Despite sharing many similarities, these two actors haven’t had the chance to team up on-screen or on any project. Fans are crossing their fingers, hoping that changes soon, and the day they join forces becomes a blockbuster moment in itself.
