The 2024 Oscars have certainly been eventful. There were many significant wins that will be in the minds of the audiences for the foreseeable future. From Emma Stone winning in the Best Actress category for her work in Poor Things to Oppenheimer winning Best Picture, it is safe to say that the nominees this year were extremely strong.
However, it would seem that something else has caught the audience’s attention. Something that is not related to any award, and many are calling it one of the best moments of the night.
There was one person in attendance at the ceremony that no one saw coming, Messi, the dog who played Snoop from Anatomy of a Fall.
Messi Stole The Show At The 2024 Oscars
Messi the dog was in attendance at the 2024 Oscars as showed a video posted by Film Updates on X. In his best suit, adorning a bowtie, he was sitting to enjoy the show. During one of the segments, he is shown clapping his hands in the most adorable of ways, enjoying the pleasantries that these ceremonies bring.
It is safe to say that this year’s Oscars ceremony has been quite unserious when it comes to their humor.

The camera even cuts to Ryan Gosling, who has quite a big smile on his face when he spots Messi in the crowd. A behind-the-scenes video showed exactly how this was done, with the Anatomy of a Fall actor getting fake hands so that he could clap, all the while he curiously looked around at the hall.
Audiences Cannot Get Enough Of Messi
After the clip of Messi clapping was posted online, audiences and fans alike, could not get enough of how adorable the entire thing was. Many found it to be the highlight of the night, saying that Cillian Murphy, who won the category of Best Actor, should instead give his award to Messi for his contributions to the Academy.

Some want him to get the lead role in a project so that he can become the first non-human actor to win an Oscar. Many were in awe of how they managed to make a dog do something like clap, while some marveled at the way one of his ears had flopped inward.
The positive feelings that audiences have towards the video prove just how iconic Messi is.
