The trailer of DC’s new film Blue Beetle dropped last week and is already garnering lots of discussions online between fandoms. The film promises to be a quirky and fun origin story of the titular superhero who will also be the first Latin superhero of DC. Blue Beetle follows the plotline of a teenager named Jamie Reyes from El Paso who comes into contact with the extraterrestrial Blue Beetle Scarab, which attached itself to the base of his spine, giving him a variety of powers including speed, strength, and flight.

Amid the expectations for the film, DC fans have also taken to social media to dig up and decimate earlier films in the franchise like Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam and Zachary Levi’s Shazam! 2 which did not find favor among audiences and critics.

Better trailer than Black Adam or Shazam 2 for sure, looks fun as hell, and CGI looks GOOD. Esp for a 1st trailer, so only going to get better.

This is something I'm looking forward to. Didn't expect to feel that way. I like seeing a fresh "new" superhero. This seems like a good direction for DC to go in.
