Music diva Beyoncé proves that she is the greatest performer of all time after breaking the record for the most number of Grammy wins. Her album Renaissance won the artist her 32nd Grammy for the best dance/electronic category.
The singer only needed two Grammy wins to dethrone the late composer Georg Solti’s record of 31 wins. During the live telecast, Beyoncé tied the record, after her song Cuff It won Best R&B Song. She later received the second award that went down in history.

Beyoncé was not present when the first award was announced. Host Trevor Noah later informed the audience that the queen of pop is “on her way.” He said:
“Beyoncé has now equaled the record for most Grammys of any individual of all time.”

The singer accepted her award and became emotional. The audience could see that she was holding back her tears.
“I’m trying not to be too emotional, and I’m trying to just receive this night. I want to thank God for protecting me. I’d like to thank my uncle Johnny, who’s not here, but he’s here in spirit. I’d like to thank my parents, my father, my mother for loving me and pushing me. I’d like to thank my beautiful husband, my beautiful three children who are at home watching. I’d like to thank the queer community for your love and for inventing this genre.”
The record for the most number of Grammy wins was held by Georg Solti. He was the music director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Out of 74 nominations, the musician won 31 awards. He was also the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996.

The 59th Grammy Awards became a controversial event in the past after Adele’s album 25 won Album of the Year, snubbing Beyoncé’s Lemonade. Adele admitted in her speech that she should not accept the award and Beyoncé deserves to win. The most iconic part of the event was when Adele broke the Grammy in half to share the victory with the pop diva.
Indeed, Beyoncé proved to be the most awarded female artist in the music industry. Her husband, Jay-Z, who contributed to her Renaissance album, was also nominated for Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
