Why Are They Planning to Layoff Employees?

As Fans Celebrate Gamescom 2023 Bioware Announces Devastating Layoffs For Employees
As Fans Celebrate Gamescom 2023 BioWare is making tough decisions with its employees.

No matter what industry you work in, this situation will unfortunately always happen, as companies begin to try something new in an effort to save themselves. And that is what BioWare hopes to achieve through this process. Even though BioWare has been creating amazing single-player games over the past years, the company feels it needs to innovate and allow its teams to be more creative, making room for change.

To do this, BioWare has been attempting to help its employees find new roles in the company, rather than just laying them off and letting them fend for themselves. To help support the employees, BioWare has tried to provide those affected with professional resources and assistance to help them gain a new position in the company. But there are only so many opportunities in BioWare that are available, and not all employees can fill those roles.

Even though not all employees will be able to gain a new job role in BioWare, that doesn’t mean they are still left on their own. BioWare is attempting to help get them positions in other studios as well, through the resources and assistance they are being provided. It will hopefully help the employees gain a potential opportunity in another studio, which will benefit from their skills and expertise.

So far, BioWare is mainly working on two highly popular and anticipated games, that fans have been waiting on for a very long time. Thise titles are Dragon Age: Dreadwolf and Mass Effect. Now, with the unfortunate news brought by BioWare that 50 employees will be laid off, many gamers are worried about what this means for the studio and the aforementioned games it has been working on.

Rest assured this will not be the case as BioWare has already stated both of these games are being worked on and will not be affected by the changes coming to the company. BioWare wants both of these games to come out at the standard the company has always strived for, as they are excited to show Dragon Age: Dreadwolf to gamers. Currently, the next addition to the Mass Effect saga in pre-production, with a core veteran team led by Mike Gamble. Due to this, BioWare have made it clear their dedication to creating games has not wavered, and they are still pushing to create some of the best single-player experiences for players to enjoy.
