Firstly, players need to stun him when he is completely out of the cloud; otherwise, they just waste their mana and the boss can still move around. Secondly, players need to make sure that the boss is not in the air (leaping attack) when they are trying to immobilize him; that will make it difficult to actually get a few attacks in.
The Second Phase: After dodging and attacking the boss, players will get it down to half its health bar. Then the boss will switch to its second form, in which his arms are surrounded by flames, meaning it can now inflict burn damage on players. This phase is a little bit more annoying, as the boss will go full offensive and attack the players by using various combos.
The best way to counter his Cloud Steps is to immobilize him again. However, unlike in the previous phase, players can now stun him when he is in cloud form, making it somewhat easier to counter and get a few of their combos in.
