Sakai, one of the animators for Bleach TYBW, shared their opinion regarding the death threats they’ve been receiving. He tweets in Japanese, which in translation derives, “Well, it’s okay to complain, but I think you should stop giving warnings and threats of harm. As a result, key staff members may become fed up with the project and leave, leading to a decline in the quality of the work.”

Another primary animator requested the fans to refrain from contacting the staff in their personal requests. This resulted in fans taking their infuriated rants to the online platform X. Several members of the team of animators received death threats and were harassed online.

It’s unfortunate that these hardworking animators from Studio Pierrot are being subjected to such an ordeal. The Thousand Years Blood War arc graced the fan base because these individuals made it possible.

Fans were so dejected with the studio that they decided to omit one of the most anticipated scenes featuring Yoruichi and Orihime in episode 22 of Bleach TYBW. However, the creator of Bleach, Tite Kubo, stated that the scene was too inappropriate to be included in the animation. His scene would have ruined the flow of the episode as well because it objectified Orihime Inoue.

Furthermore, fans decided to take matters into their own hands and harass the Bleach animators online because the quality of animation was “mid,” according to them.

However, Bleach fans realized what was happening in the community, and several came out to stand by the staff’s side. Users on X decided to post appreciation tweets under the hashtag – #Thank_you_to_all_Bleach_staff. They were ashamed about the toxic portion of their fan base and expressed gratitude towards the hard work of animators who made this long-anticipated arc, TYBW, possible.
