Blue Eye Samurai is one of the best Anime of 2023, if not the best. The first season of the show got a huge fan following alongside a wide critical reception as the show has gained an astonishing 100% Rotten Tomatoes score.
However, despite the popularity and fame the show gained right after its release, the original network, Netflix has been based by fans for a while as it took too long to have a solid season 2 update. Now, Netflix has renewed the show for another season and it seems the bashing seemed to work in the favor of the fans.
Netflix Renewed Blue Eye Samurai For Season 2
Good news for Blue Eye Samurai fans, Netflix has renewed the show for another season. Amber Noizumi and Michael Green-created show was an astounding hit that tells the tale of a master of the sword who lives life in disguise while seeking revenge in Edo-period Japan. Show’s co-creator Green, in a recent statement (per Netflix via Variety), revealed that the journey of the Blue Eye Samurai continues.
“When we started this project, we made a commitment to take this very personal story set in Edo-period Japan and bring it to life in the most authentic and beautiful way possible. Our animators, historians, musicians, martial artists and voice cast made this a reality beyond our expectations. We are thankful to our entire team and to our viewers from all over the world who have shown such passion for Mizu and her path of revenge. Mizu has a lot more blood to spill! We are deeply grateful to our incredible partners at Netflix for letting the journey continue,” Green said.
Indeed a good news for fans who have waited too long for the update of the show’s second season. But the wait is not over details of the show’s continuation is yet to unveil.

Fans Were Upset With Blue Eye Samurai Ending
There is no doubt among fans that Blue Eye Samurai is one of the greatest anime of 2023, however, fans were not entirely happy with the ending of the show. Also, the creators and crew encouraged fans to watch the show for a potential renewal. Eventually, Netflix listened but not before upsetting the fans.

Netflix has not given much insight into the details of season 2 of the show. However, with almost certainty, Maya Erskine as Mizu, a female mixed-race blue-eyed bushi will return alongside Masi Oka, Darren Barnet, Brenda Song, George Takei, and co. The release info of the show is still under wraps.
