Anthony Ramos is all set to star in the upcoming Bob The Builder animated movie with Jennifer Lopez producing it. Following his recent major role in the $438 movie Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Ramos will voice the title character in the movie.
The feature from Mattel Films unveiled the initial premise of the movie as the celebrated Bob the Builder animated children’s series got the nods from the company for a movie. The adventures of Bob in the original series that debuted in the mass media in 1999 got an astounding following with 20 seasons run.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts star Anthony Ramos says that the role is quite close to him. The actor also revealed that the movie will carry an “important message” allowing fans to witness it on the big screens. The actor further mentioned that certain elements of the film were inspired by his own life. “For years, Bob the Builder’s characters have inspired young people around the world,” Ramos said of the inspiration of the animated series on the masses.
“A movie about friends working together, a celebration of a beautiful home they share, and how love can help to conquer any obstacle in your way. Can we fix it? Yes, we can!” (via Variety).
Apart from voicing the title character, the actor will also produce the film with ShadowMachine’s Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico alongside Jennifer Lopez’s company Nuyorican Productions’ Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina. Following the astonishing success of Barbie at the box office grossing over $1.4 billion, Mattel Films is expanding the business with several movie titles slated. Bob The Builder joins the confirmed slates from the company.
Bob The Builder Animated Movie Storyline Revealed
The official premise of the movie will expand Bob’s adventure, adding more essence to the story of the titular character. The fan-favorite Bob, also known as Roberto, travels to Puerto Rico as he gets a major construction job. However, in a turn of events, Bob “takes on issues affecting the island,” the official storyline reveals (via Variety).
Bob went on to dig deeper into “what it means to build.” Bob’s journey will “celebrate the vibrant and colorful textures of the Caribbean Latin nations and their people.” While a director has not been assigned to the project, Felipe Vargas is attached to scribe the movie.
“The show’s ability to promote positive thinking, problem-solving and empowerment with a completely original story set in Puerto Rico puts a new spin on a beloved brand. We can’t wait for new and existing fans to connect with these amazing characters,” Goldsmith-Thomas said.
Mattel Films’ president Robbie Brenner said, “Pairing Anthony and Felipe’s genius vision for the story will capture this beloved character in a manner that audiences who grew up with Bob will recognize.” And “all-new audiences will enjoy,” he added. The movie is expected to hit production soon. However, the release info is still under wraps.
