Jared Leto is a celebrity who is known prominently for his method acting. Although method acting has both good sides and bad, it can often result in a rather unfriendly environment. From playing the Joker to playing Morbius, there is a lot the actor has achieved thanks to his method acting. There are various other actors who indulge in this art as well, including Christian Bale and Robert de Niro.

Although at first glance it may seem as if it affects the outside world more, it internally affects the actor as well. Cases of concerning behaviors have often surfaced because of the extreme measures actors can take to get their roles just right. However, there is one thing Leto hates more than anything, audition processes.
Jared Leto has worked in a lot of big films and he has also established himself as a respected and talented actor. Despite his fame and reach to massive projects, he finds auditioning to be a painful process. In an interview with Vanity Fair, he revealed just how gruesome he finds the process to be.

“Auditioning is probably akin to boiling your own testicles in vegan butter, or sawing off your butt lip and chewing on it like it’s tobacco. That’s another thing you could compare to auditioning.”
The actor confirmed that in his perspective, auditioning was horrible, enough to compare it with pouring boiling water on his testicles. He also went into the gory details of how he views the entire process. From cutting off the lips to burning them with tobacco, he left no details uncovered. It was clear that no amount of method acting could make him like the entire duration of the audition. He went on to explain even more about how bad things can get for him.
During the same interview with Vanity Fair, Jared Leto shared his experience while he was auditioning for a movie. He admitted that for him, audition rooms and casting offices are the worst places to be at. He finds them extremely uncomfortable and the entire process doesn’t help either.

“I remember being in one audition. Every casting room has the worst vibe you’ve ever felt in your life. There’s maybe a dentist in Tijuana that has a more comfortable setting than a casting office. There was a couch overturned and I was asked to hide behind the couch and shoot imaginary bullets at an unseen enemy.”
He explained just what had happened during an audition and how his being forced to shoot imaginary bullets at people he couldn’t even see while in an uncomfortable setting made him want to walk out of the room immediately. Ironically enough, he got the part.
