It’s close to impossible to beat the fandom and charm Brad Pitt possesses. He also has an appealing physique, especially his showcased physique in Fight Club got the actor even more fans to notice him. Charlie Hunnam is no different. The British actor adores the Oscar winner, but sometimes it’s hard for him to meet his stature when a producer of a movie asks the actor to “immediately look like a guy capable of saving the world.”  But Pitt became a problem for Hunnam. “Brad Pitt f*cked it up for everyone,” he once said.

“Because in Fight Club he looked so incredible that he just raised the bar to this very lofty place of what is now expected of everybody that’s gonna take the shirt off in a movie.”

But following Pitt has its perks. Hunnam went on to collaborate with the Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood actor later in James Gray’s Plan B Entertainment- produced 2016 movie The Lost City of Z. Hunnam led the movie which also starred Robert Pattinson, Sienna Miller, Tom Holland among oth3rs.

Hunnam has always looked up to Pitt as the most impressive guy in his life. Pitt later produced his movie The Lost City of Z. Based on a bestselling book, The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon by David Grann, Pitt was initially roped for the lead role, but it was later forwarded to Hunnam. “Big big big shoes to fill,” Hunnam told Insider.

“I’ll tell you what I was really nervous about Brad seeing the film but he’s been very kind to me you know he sent me a message saying he thought I’d done a really good job he came to up for me at the other night just support the film it seems like he’s very proud of the film.”

But playing the role of Percy Fawcett was not easy. While preparing for the role Hunnam stopped talking to his girlfriend Morgana McNelis as the movie relied on letters as the primary mode of communication with his onscreen wife, played by Miller. “I didn’t speak to my girlfriend for four months and I wrote her letters during the process of it,” Hunnam said.

“And so she would write me a letter and I would get it and I would hold at five or six or seven days sometimes and in the sea and right before the sea and read the letter to sort of create that sense of longing and and and what that connection to home felt like,” he added.

Made on a budget of $30 million, the movie did not leave a prominent mark at the box office as it failed to recover the budget, grossing only $19.3 million.
