A race car zooming past you on the tracks, time when you spend it with your favorite person, and Brad Pitt in Deadpool 2 are just a few things you can miss if you dare to blink your eyes. In fact, many people might not even know that Brad Pitt played the role of Vanisher in Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 2. After all, he was on-screen for literally two seconds and even that didn’t end in his favor!

Well, this was the first time Brad Pitt “played” a superhero in his extensive acting career and it is, unfortunately, going to be his last. The only reason the superstar agreed to play this minuscule role was because Ryan Reynolds asked him to. Brad Pitt revealed that the two-second role is all that he is going to do in the superhero genre.

While Brad Pitt has an almost unending filmography, his career as a superhero began and ended before you could count to three. Literally. Pitt’s character, Vanisher, was part of the X-Force team that met an unfortunate end. The character was invisible throughout his appearance in the film until the very end when he was electrocuted and Pitt’s face came into frame.

The hilarious and unexpected involvement of Pitt became one of the fan-favorite moments from the movie. However, for those who are wondering in Pitt would ever want to play a better superhero role, possibly one which goes on for more than a couple of seconds, we have some bad news for you.

In an interview with MTV News, Pitt talked about his superhero career stating,

“I think I have taken it as far as I can take it. Ryan Reynolds came up with the part that I could fill.”

Well, there you go. The two-second cameo was more than enough for Pitt to fulfill his superhero fantasies if he had any. He is on to bigger, better, and longer roles!

How Did Ryan Reynolds Get Brad Pitt in Deadpool 2

During his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Ryan Reynolds talked about how he pitched Pitt’s part to the makers of Deadpool 2.

“He’s gonna play Vanisher. And they were like, ‘What’s Vanisher’s power?’ I was like, ‘Well, he doesn’t speak and he’s invisible.’ And they were like, ‘Why is Brad Pitt doing it?’ I was like, ‘Cause you see him’ you know. And they were like, ‘When do you see him?’ I was like, ‘You see him for a quarter of a second when he’s electrocuted to death.’”

Leave it to Reynolds to come up with insane plans and make them possible! However, to get an actor of Pitt’s caliber to agree to such a role, you might have to write him a chunky paycheck. Luckily for the team, Pitt did the gig for less than a thousand dollars and a cup of coffee from Starbucks delivered to him by Reynolds himself.

We sure are excited to see if Reynolds has any more such surprises for Deadpool 3.
