It can’t be denied that Brad Pitt‘s cameo in Deadpool 2 shocked the fans for presenting an actor of such stature in a blink-and-you-miss-it role. He played the role of Vanisher, one of the members of the X-Force team and a mutant who could always stay invisible. However, in a scene where he was forced to jump off a plane, he electrocuted himself, and Pitt appeared for a sequence that didn’t last more than 2 seconds.

Recently during a chat with Comicbook for its Collectibles Show, the creator of the Merc With a Mouth, Rob Liefeld confirmed that Brad Pitt was initially set to play Cable.

“I know for 100% fact that was true. They did previews, and David Leitch had a very special relationship doing stunt work with [Pitt]. What people don’t know is that was very early early on. So when they knew they weren’t going in that direction, they went down several others.”

But the plans didn’t go accordingly, and later, Josh Brolin was spotted playing the role. Brolin was appreciated for his part. However, Pitt was not absent from the movie. On Ryan Reynolds’ request, the Fight Club actor played one of the least important roles ever in exchange for just a cup of coffee.

Interestingly, all it took for Brad Pitt to say yes to a role limited to not more than three frames was a cup of coffee. When the cast and the crew talked with Entertainment Tonight during the 2018 Comic Con in San Diego, they revealed that Ryan Reynolds only needed a cup of coffee to convince the Oscar-winner for a cameo in the David Leitch directorial.

At first, it was one of the writers Rhett Reese who said that Brad Pitt agreed to the cameo on the condition that Ryan Reynolds have to personally deliver him a cup of coffee. Reynolds corroborated the report- “I was told all he wants is a cup of coffee and I said, ‘Like a franchise or just one individual cup of coffee?'” and agreed it was one of the nicest things anyone could do.

Ryan Reynolds couldn’t stop praising Brad Pitt for saying yes to such a scene only due to his friendship with the director David Leitch and the main lead. Presently Deadpool 3 is all set to introduce the character in the MCU alongside Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine after the issue with movie rights is finally over.

Deadpool 3 will hit the theaters on July 26, 2024, while fans can watch the first two parts on Disney+.
