The acclaimed Oscar-winning actor himself has openly acknowledged his struggle with facial recognition, a condition that has occasionally led to misunderstandings, and this has often led to situations where people think that he is egoistic. However, this isn’t something the actor does deliberately, as according to him, his difficulty recognizing faces is due to a specific condition.

Brad Pitt’s unforgettable encounters that keep on repeating

Brad Pitt has appeared in many incredible movies throughout his career. His captivating personality and remarkable Hollywood journey have undoubtedly left a lasting impression on his fans and followers, ensuring that the actor’s legacy will endure for generations. However, this can’t be said in the case of Brad Pitt himself, as he barely remembers anyone he comes across.

This challenge of facial recognition the actor faces is termed prosopagnosia, which affects the ability to recognize faces, even those of close friends and family members. During an interview, the actor once claimed that he often struggles with this situation, as people often take him to be an egoistic man. The actor said,

“So many people hate me because they think I’m disrespecting them.”

To cope with this false image, the actor decided to play a trick. Observing the reactions of people, the actor realized that somewhere he was offending people’s sentiments, so he decided to pretend that he remembered them even when he didn’t actually recall them.

However, this tactic didn’t work out, as after this, people got more offended. The actor said,

“Every now and then, someone will give me context, and I’ll say, ‘Thank you for helping me.’ But I piss more people off. You get this thing, like, ‘You’re being egotistical. You’re being conceited.'”

Further, the actor claimed that he doesn’t do all this deliberately, and his condition is also a mystery to him. The actor said that he might be suffering from prosopagnosia, and due to this, he didn’t even prefer going out. However, it isn’t very easy to control an extrovert soul, as the actor himself stated that he enjoys being a public person, according to the actor,

“You meet so many damned people. And then you meet ’em again.”

While the actor thinks that he is perceived wrongly by a few people, there are people who greatly admire their encounter with Pitt.

Although Brad Pitt often forgets about the people he encounters, he has been known for meeting his fans warmly and graciously. His humility and down-to-earth attitude have often left positive impressions on fans who have had the chance to meet him. One of Pitt’s acquaintances who can advocate for his genuine nature is Guy Ritchie. During an interview, Ritchie said,

I like Brad because he’s not a cock. He’s about as far away from being a cock as you can be. And it’s quite easy to be a cock in his position. It comes for free. If you’re famous and you’re good-looking, you have a license to be a cock. And I’m not sure if anyone has a bigger license than Brad. The license has ‘cock’ written all over it. And yet, he’s a good guy. That’s apparent and manifest as soon as you meet him.”

Pitt and Ritchie have collaborated on movies like Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
