Cillian Murphy has beaten Bradley Cooper again in the Best Actor Award category, this time at the SAG Awards on Saturday Night. Murphy earlier won the Golden Globe and BAFTA Awards for his performance as the Father of the Atom Bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer, in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. Ever since the awards season began, fans have speculated a beef between Cooper and Murphy, with the former winning no awards for his role in Maestro.
Bradley Cooper played American composer Leonard Bernstein in the film and took six years to complete his directorial venture. However, Murphy is the frontrunner in the race, alongside Paul Giamatti, who won the Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award for Best Actor for The Holdovers.
Bradley Cooper Loses Another Award To Cillian Murphy
Fans have been trolling Bradley Cooper since the beginning of this awards season, shaming him for losing to Cillian Murphy at multiple awards. Cooper was also nominated along with Murphy for all the major awards, including the Best Actor Award at the upcoming 96th Academy Awards. However, Oppenheimer fans alleged that the Guardians of the Galaxy actor was jealous of Murphy.
On Saturday night, Cooper lost yet again in the Best Actor category. When Murphy was announced as the winner, the camera pans to the American Sniper actor for a second, and fans believe his face showed the sadness in losing. Many fans took to X to troll the actor as usual, but this time, he also got a lot of people sympathizing with him for his losing streak.
Cooper’s reactions to other actors’ winning awards have been widely discussed on social media. Several fans alleged that the cameras intentionally panned to Cooper to boost these discussions. Many fans agreed that it was a heartbreaking scene to watch, while others continued to troll him. Several fan reactions read:

Fans started alleging a beef between the actors after Bradley Cooper’s remark in a Variety interview rubbed the Oppenheimer fans the wrong way. While discussing his Maestro role with Emma Stone, Cooper stated, “This wasn’t like you got a call, and in six months you’re going to do it. This had to have taken years.” Fans largely believed that it was a subtle dig at Cillian Murphy, who earlier revealed that he had prepared six months for his role as the American physicist.
The trolling began when fans shared Murphy’s Golden Globe-winning moment on social media along with the Aloha actor’s reaction, alleging that the latter was bitter at losing the award (via Men’s Journal). This one-sided beef appears to be an over-stretch, but the actor could really be hurting over his lost awards. Interestingly, Cooper has missed out on the Academy Awards nine times, including three times for Best Actor and once for Best Supporting Actor.
Fans Also Speculate Another ‘Awards’ Beef Between Emma Stone And Lily Gladstone
Lily Gladstone gained critical acclaim for her role in Martin Scorsese‘s Killers of the Flower Moon. She won the Best Actress Award on Saturday night at the 30th SAG Awards. She earlier won the Golden Globes award in the Drama category. However, Emma Stone is proving to be a tough competition for Gladstone as she has won the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Award, and the BAFTA.
Stone played the role of Bella Baxter, who returned from the dead, in Yorgos Lanthimos‘ film Poor Things. While both Stone and Gladstone are frontrunners to win the Oscars this year, fans speculate a beef between the two actresses. However, the two actresses only have high praise for each other and even have a nickname for each other — Infinity Stones (via Vanity Fair).
