The Marvels was the biggest flop in the history of MCU

Ever since the first release of Iron Man, no other movie in the history of the MCU has bombed so badly at the box office as The Marvels. The movie which was released last year in November bombed at the box office and only managed to gross almost $206 million reportedly becoming the first flop of MCU. The Marvels starring Brie Larson was allegedly supposed to gross almost $440 million just to break even but unfortunately, it did not even come close.

Last year, the CEO of Disney, Bob Iger even opened up about the failure of The Marvels in an interview with CNBC and said filming during Covid-19 times was one of the main reasons for the failure of the movie. He said,

“The Marvels’ was shot during Covid. There wasn’t as much supervision on the set, so to speak, where we have executives [that are] really looking over what’s being done day after day after day.”

2. Untitled CIA series

Back in 2019, Brie Larson had signed up to play the role of CIA agent Amaryllis Fox in an untitled CIA series that will based on the real-life story of an agent of the name. According to sources, the series will be based on Amaryllis Fox’s memoir, Life Undercover: Coming of Age in the CIA. The description of the book is already thrilling enough for one to realize that a series based on this book would be pretty amazing. The description says,

“Amaryllis Fox was in her last year as an undergraduate at Oxford studying theology and international law when her writing mentor Daniel Pearl was captured and beheaded. Galvanized by this brutality, Fox applied to a master’s program in conflict and terrorism at Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service, where she created an algorithm that predicted, with uncanny certainty, the likelihood of a terrorist cell arising in any village around the world.”
