In the world of anime and manga, two of the biggest names are Eiichiro Oda and Masashi Kishimoto for their series One Piece and Naruto. These series are two of the big three anime and have left their impression globally amassing a worldwide fan following.

Both of these series and their creators have been compared multiple times and no one has ever been able to find out who is the better creator. If One Piece is better in world-building and animation, Naruto has been awarded for character development and storytelling. There is no decent way to compare both series.

However, there may be an aspect where Kishimoto may have surpassed Oda and although it is depressing, it has a brilliance to it that only legendary mangaka Kishimoto could have depicted and even foreshadowed in the story. Although this aspect may not justify the comparison between two of the biggest manga creators, it surely puts Kishimoto slightly above Oda in terms of foreshadowing.

Naruto vs One Piece: The Better Series

Naruto follows Naruto Uzumaki’s trip to become the Hokage of Konoha Village, whereas One Piece centers on Monkey D, Luffy’s quest to become the Pirate King. Comparisons can be drawn between the two even though their settings and stories are entirely dissimilar.

Though each series has its advantages and disadvantages, their widespread appeal suggests that viewers adore them for their unique characteristics. Naruto and One Piece are too different to ever be compared to determine which is better.

While there will always be disagreements among anime fans about which of these two fantastic works of art is superior, choosing between them comes down to personal preference. Still, both shows have proven to be enduring and deserving of their place in history. Still, a fan recently pointed out an aspect of Naruto that was unnoticed by a lot of fans, which may put Masashi Kishimoto’s work above Eiichiro Oda.

Masashi Kishimoto Has Surpassed Eiichiro Oda

The aspect that puts Kishimoto above Oda is his portrayal of pain and loneliness which was a constant theme of the series, it essentially became a background of the series. Naruto achieved every goal of his life in the series. Be it becoming the Hokage or defeating one of the biggest villains of the entire series. In the end, he was always shown alone.

Naruto returned to an empty house despite becoming the hero of Konoha after defeating Pain and the hero of the entire Shinobi World after defeating Madara & Kaguya. This showed that Kishimoto always foreshadowed the aspect of pain and loneliness even during a satisfied and happy moment.

This aspect has never been seen in One Piece as usually, Oda ends a feat with a party and celebration. However, Kishimoto’s constant depiction of the lonely theme reflected his brilliance in the story.
