With a trial by combat, Oberyn Martell agrees to fight for Tyrion Lannister against the Mountain. The scene was supposed to feature the open sea of the location but there were several yachts. As per the book Fire Cannot Kill a Dragon by James Hibberd, the crew asked the yacht owners to shift their yachts. According to the narrative, one of the yachts belonged to Bruce Willis.

The book claimed that Willis felt something called “yacht rage” wherein he got angry at having to move over his yacht. The actor’s yacht started circling in the sea as a means of interfering with the shot. Having enough of it, the crew simply decided to shoot the scene in a different way and remove the sea aspect of the fight. Instead of focusing on the sea views, the cast of Game of Thrones chose their shots carefully and more low-ground and personal.

In the book, however, executive producer Bernadette Caulfield notes that they never actually “saw” Bruce Willis. Thus all the allegations about the pettiness of the actor remain allegations and not the truth.

Starring in the iconic 1988 film, Bruce Willis portrayed the role of John McClane in Die Hard. With thieves entering Nakatomi Plaza, the shooting of the film had to be done in an actual building. Cinematographer Jan de Bont revealed in The Movies That Made Us that Willis annoyed a lot of the building’s residents!

“Everything that you see in the movie is real. The SUV comes out from the police, the big explosion the first time. That’s all real fire. Real explosion. The people who were occupying the building, they were really mad at us.”

John McTiernan, the director of the movie continued,

“There were one bunch of lawyers on the 25th floor. We’d do any gunshots or anything and they’d go nuts.”

Well, whatever the case may be, Game of Thrones improvised the scene while Die Hard finished filming and received great success around the world. The iconic HBO show which Bruce Willis allegedly tried to interfere with, is available to stream on Max in the U.S.
