Bruce Willis Refused To Appear In The Expendables 3

Bruce Willis appeared in the first two Expendable movies as Mr. Church. His character was loved dearly by his fans and much like him, they kept wanting him to continue portraying Mr. Church. He was asked by the filmmakers to appear in the third film as well and he almost said yes. However, one problem stood in his path, one which ultimately kept him from reprising the role any further.

For his part in the film, the actor only had to be present on set for four days. It would have been an impactful part, and the fans would have been more than happy to see him return to a franchise that is so appreciated by the audience. He was being offered $3 Million for the role. Unfortunately, that was not enough for him. He instead wanted to be paid $1 Million per day, getting a total of $4 Million for his work. Neither the filmmakers nor Willis were willing to budge and hence it was decided that he would not be returning to the movie.

Bruce Willis Stepped Away From A Franchise That Could Earn Over $1 Billion

So far, Expendables 1, 2, and have ended up making about $789 Million. With the fourth movie also underway, there is a high chance that the franchise could get close to being worth $1 Billion. Since Willis refused to return for the third part, it is highly unlikely that he would have been asked to come back for the fourth film as well.

Although since he has retired, the possibility of that happening has become concrete. Fans throughout the world are filled with sorrow knowing that the famed actor will not be making any more movies. The Expendables 4 will be available to watch in theatres from 22nd September 2023.
