Fans mourned alongside Andrew Garfield‘s Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 when he couldn’t save his greatest love. Fans still remember the moment when Peter’s web caught Gwen a little too late and the world around him seemed to shatter in pieces. The Webb-verse Peter had to relive this moment once again when he was summoned to Earth-616 in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

As chaos ensues on top of the Statue of Liberty, Zendaya‘s MJ falls and Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man is unable to catch her. Garfield’s Peter once again leaped into action, firing his web with desperate speed so as not to miss this time. He catches MJ in time and asks her if she’s okay.

Zendaya’s character is safe without a scratch but she notices the overwhelming emotions in Garfield’s Peter and asks him if he is okay. She gets a nod in return. But fans of Webb-verse knew immediately that he was not okay. The entire scene is brilliantly explained in the script of the film, which surfaced on X from the account @MarveIFacts.

Marvel fans cannot go through the lines in the script without crying. The scene concludes with a note, “But this time, he prevailed”, which may prove too emotional for shippers of Garfield’s Spider-Man and Emma Stone’s Gwen.

Adding such emotional moments along with the involvement of the two Spideys provided a colossal success for the film. The film went on to collect a massive $1.922 billion at the box office against a budget of $200 million (via Box Office Mojo).

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield joined the production of Spider-Man: No Way Home much later after the start of the shoot. Tom Holland shared that it was a daunting experience as he got more nervous when he got closer to the date of meeting them. He shared that he even marked his calendar with the event ‘The other Spider-Mans are coming’.

He took Zendaya and Jacob Batalon along with him to meet Maguire and Garfield. It was a surreal moment for him and he shared that he was even more nervous to read lines along with them on the first day. He had the pressure to bring his own heart and soul into the character since all three played different versions of the same character. He shared (via Spider-Man | YouTube):

I’m really nervous about it. We have to read the scene and I don’t know how this is gonna go because we’re all playing the same character and we all have to bring our own heart and soul into this. It means a lot to them and it means a lot to me.’ So Jacob and Zendaya were there on that first day.

He was asked to jump into the suits with the other two immediately and was put in front of the camera not too long after they met. Holland had a great time working with the other too and he described it as a fun experience.
