The franchise has been around for the past few years and each installment features some massive improvements than the previous games. However, the developers are slowly losing the favor of the gaming community over previous creative choices that are ruining the experience.

The Gaming Community Hopes Black Ops 6 Will Redeem the Franchise

Activision spent two decades working on this franchise and the most recent entries are pushing the longtime fans away because the developers lost sight of the bigger picture. The franchise may be the most accurate and immersive combat simulation yet it is still a game, and the developers are taking it in the wrong direction and making players hope that a feature to disable ridiculous cosmetic items would be available in Black Ops 6 multiplayer matches.

Fans are calling out the developers for one creative change they have made during the Modern Warfare 2 era that encourages players to seek out enemies by themselves without using any UAVs like normal and making the game feel like a real combat simulator.

Not everyone was a fan of that idea and affected the entertainment factor. Some fans understand what the developers are going for, unfortunately, this idea will not work for some players who are just here to play and have a good time and do not want to put in more effort and relax.

The franchise used to be fun and had features similar to the traditional arcade gaming genre by shooting enemies and accomplishing objectives. Activision took a gamble with the previous games and learned their lesson the hard way and that the gaming community is a hard crowd to please.

Treyarch and Raven Software Needs to Appeal to Every Call of Duty Player

The developers seemed confident with this year’s installment and went all out with the marketing and promotional campaign. However, not everything revealed in the previews will be in the final product like Mount Rushmore being used as a fun marketing strategy, more national landmarks could indicate the high stakes of the single-player campaign.

Some fans have noticed the drastic decline in quality with the campaigns of the more recent titles and hope this year’s Call of Duty will break the streak. Perhaps the developers can push their initiative of being a more accurate combat simulator in the campaign rather than shoving it into the multiplayer mode.

The gaming community has become competitive and wants to win in their terms. The changes made in Modern Warfare 2 were a major blow to how players would conduct themselves in matches and is the wrong move.

There is nothing wrong with making a more accurate and immersive combat simulator but it does once it affects the entertainment factor. Activision needs to reconsider its options.
