Zombies are confirmed to serve as the continuation of the Dark Aether story arc in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. But it may get more exciting for the fans as they might finally get to know about the secret plan of Eddie Richtofen, which he prioritizes above everything else.
As of now, only a few characters, including Grigori Weaver, Elizabeth Grey, and Major Mackenzie Carver, have been confirmed. Joining them will be a new character going by the name of Maya Aguinaldo. Users will get to choose whose shoes they want to step in as the story unfolds.
Project Janus’ Might Finally Come to Fruition in Zombies
A lot of speculation would arise out of it, and it all but confirms the return of Eddie Richtofen in the upcoming Call of Duty game. Also, Project Janus may finally come out of the shadows, as fans will again get to delve into the round-based zombie experience.
The piece details come from the latest promotional video of the game, which fans can watch over the official GameSpot’s website. One of the two videos features a physical steelbook, which is a part of the pre-order bonus. The inside of it contains the logo and the text “Project Janus”.
We don’t know much about it but Richtofen has learned of a human-turned-Elder God, namely the Forsaken. It’s still unknown what business he has with his supernatural entities but some theories suggests that he would try bring his son Samuel through portals.
Whatever his plan is, he certainly seems dedicated. And if he is planning something for Samuel, we may see the Call of Duty version of Doctor Strange, just that he’s trying to bring his son back from dead.
What’s Going on With Edward Richtofen’s Project Janus?
Project Janus has always existed since the initiation of the Office of Requiem, when Richtofen proposed it to the Directorate of Science & Technology. As the lore goes, he was up to something behind the scenes.
When one of the communiques meant for Richtofen is intercepted by some operatives at a safehouse, he becomes more mindful and uses an experimental robot named Klaus, to kill them all. It assured that no further information regarding the project is leaked.
Not just that, a friend of Grigori Weaver, Samantha Maxis, who helped Requiem stop Omega Group from harnessing Dark Aether’s powers, becomes a pain in the neck at one point. Richtofen had to take care of her. Though she isn’t killed, she is locked in the Dark Aether.
So many mysteries lie within the lore and the upcoming Activision game might finally be pulling the curtain to bring them to light. It appears like the Zombies arc will be more interesting this time. Hopefully, the original campaign will do the same.
