There’s one map in particular that has been the topic of discussion for players, and it’s not because of meta-breaking capabilities or unbalanced gameplay. In fact, this may be one of the simpler things that have broken the heads of Modern Warfare 3 players.

A classic Call of Duty map needs a simple quality-of-life update

Fans of the classic map are demanding a simple quality-of-life update.

Shipment has been a map that has stood the test of time through multiple Call of Duty games. As expected, the location has also been the favorite for many players, especially in close-counter situations where things can get ridiculous pretty fast. However, Redditor fauchis_garci has something to say about the map; the brightness is an issue.

Yes, you read that right. The map simply isn’t ‘lit up’ enough for the player to see things clearly. In their post, they’ve mentioned how this causes a lot of issues and they face a lot of dark corners that make it a problem to properly play the match. This may seem like a simple issue to fix, but not a lot of Redditors hold the same opinion.

The top comment by user RicoSwavy_ contradicts the post; suggesting that the user should just turn up their TV/Monitor’s brightness a bit. Fortunately, there are others in the comments section who support this rant and admit that the map could truly use a brightness update.

It’s funny and interesting to see how something as simple as this can make or break a player’s experience. After all, Call of Duty can be a game that tests someone’s reflexes and this is only possible when the player is given absolute clarity about what they’re doing in the game. And of course, who they are firing at.

Shipment has had a tiny yet huge place in the hearts of players over the years

Call of Duty shipment
Shipment has been an important part of different games.

Considered to be one of the smallest maps in the game, Shipment has evolved over the ages as different Call of Duty games have come to light. The tiny map is a location filled with cargo shipment boxes, close spaced, and corners that can easily be missed. These make for some intense 1v1 fights, as well as strategies where a player may find just the right spot to prey on naive opponents.

On the game’s website, the handy introduction to Shipment gives players an idea of what they can expect from shootouts on the map:

A little chaos is good for the soul, not to mention the beauty of XP gains on a tiny map like Shipment. In this iteration of the fan-favorite classic, the scene of battle moves to the high seas as SpecGru and KorTac forces face off against each other among stacked containers and crates filled with cash and illicit goods.

Moreover, there are certain spawn points and cleverly placed areas where players can make the best use of their close to mid-range weapons. Then again, the map’s default dark state may block some of your vision if you’re not careful. What do you think? Is Shipment good as it is, or are a few changes needed to make it all the better?
