2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is often cited as one of the best Call of Duty games of all time. The game played a key role in popularizing the series and laid down the foundation of the Call of Duty franchise. In 2020, a remastered version of the game was released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.

Unfortunately, many were disappointed to find out that it was a Campaign remaster, leaving multiplayer out of the picture. Now, 4 years later, a mod will make it possible for gamers to once again experience the classic MW2 multiplayer lobbies.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer was a special era for the franchise. Many hardcore fans hoped that Activision would bring back those days with 2020’s Remastered version, but unfortunately, only the campaign got remastered.

Disappointed by this, a set of developers decided to take the matter into their own hands. A community-made mod called H2 Multiplayer Mod for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will finally let you hit those cheeky trick shots once again.

This mod was designed to recreate the original Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer experience with a wide variety of maps, new progression, unique camos, remastered weapons, custom attachments as well as the original MW2 killstreaks.

The Anticipation For The Mod Is Quite High

The trailer for the mod was revealed earlier this week and visually, the mod looks so good that many thought it was an official announcement from Activision.

There are some prerequisites as this mod works with the help of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered (2017), so players need to make sure that they own the game on Steam. The mod is only for PC and also features controller support and aim assist.

The mod will be released on 16th August 2024 for free. Hopefully, it will not be taken down as the creators aren’t profiting off the mod. This has been a great year for Call of Duty fans as the next installment in the series will also be released later this year,

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was revealed last month and it’s safe to say that the expectations are very high. The Open Beta for the game will begin on August 30th for players who have pre-ordered the game or have the Xbox Game Pass. Everyone else will also get a chance to experience the Open Beta on September 6th.
