Call of Duty fans on the PlayStation can rejoice, as the renowned franchise’s latest entry might be getting a brand-new bundle treatment of its own. The bundle will include a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, along with the exclusive Lockpick Operator Pack.
Like many triple-A titles, launching a new game alongside a bundle isn’t new. In the past, we’ve received the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Bundle with exclusive content for PlayStation users. While there’s no official date announced for the bundle, the game can be experienced on November 10, 2023.
What Will the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Bundle Include?
Along with the PlayStation 5 console and a copy of the game, players can expect to get their hands on the Lockpick Operator pack. This shiny pack includes the Lockpick Operator Skin, the ARMican Gothic Weapon, and the Starry Melee Weapon. A charismatic way to dive into the world of Modern Warfare 3, for sure.
Players who have pre-ordered the game will receive this pack too. However, the PlayStation exclusivity has been made quite clear with the operator’s reveal trailer where we get to see all the new cosmetics and learn a little about Lockpick’s origins.
The entire bundle is a gesture from Sony that Call of Duty is receiving exclusive content that stays true to Sledgehammer Games. The reveal trailer showcases Elodie Micheaux (aka Lockpick), who is a reputed burglar who has quite the tricks and skills for breaking any locks that try to get in her way. The trailer marks an indication of the commitment behind character writing and, possibly, new points of interest in the game.

If the new bundle is similar to the previous Modern Warfare bundle for PlayStation 5, players can expect:
- PlayStation 5 console
- DualSense wireless controller
- HDMI cable
- AC power cord
- Printed materials
- DualSense USB charging cable
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Cross-Gen full game voucher/download code
- Astro’s Playroom

However, as exciting as it seems, this kind of bundle launch and exclusivity may be short-lived, since the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard gazes over a long-term partnership between Call of Duty and Xbox.
PlayStation Fans Can Enjoy Exclusive Call of Duty Content, at Least for Now
According to sources, Modern Warfare 3 might just be the last gung-ho project for the studio that keeps the Sony and Activision deal going. However, the recent conclusion of the Microsoft and Activision Blizzard deal marks a new era. This will be an exciting time for Xbox players, considering how there’s a high chance Call of Duty will make its way to Game Pass and other platforms that enjoy Microsoft’s flair.
With upcoming plans for XCloud Gaming and Game Pass being available on multiple platforms, gamers will have access to the latest Call of Duty content wherever they go and however, they play. As for new content, a remark by the president of Activision (Rob Kostich), paved the way for the game’s future.
Furthermore, in July 2023, Sony signed a deal to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation for the next 10 years. A decade passes quickly, and games like Modern Warfare tend to have strong campaigns with content updates that need to keep players interested. Producing quality games certainly takes time, but this is not a remark on existing Call of Duty games on PlayStation. The deal will not affect existing titles or content that exists within them.
It’s important to note that the initial two multiplayer beta weekends for Modern Warfare 3 were also exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. However, the second beta weekend will have cross-play for Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
While the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 PlayStation 5 bundle may seem one of the final exclusives from the franchise, the future of Call of Duty relies on the new partnership between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.
