The reason behind this is that the weapon is incredibly overpowered! With the ability to insta-kill anyone on the map and close distances easily, the Soulrender in Modern Warfare 3 guarantees a fun time for those who wield it and a quick death for those who taste the bite of its blade.

Knives and other blades have been a part of Call of Duty games for a while. Many enjoy the challenge of completing entire games using just a knife, and it does offer some movement advantages in addition to being completely silent. However, the Soulrender is no normal knife; this blade can cut through even Riot Shields.

The sword is a unique ability in Modern Warfare 3 designed for some heavy hits and incredible damage. In the hands of a skilled player, it can be used to decimate an entire enemy team one-man-army style. Along with this sword, the Season 2 Reloaded update also added their SOA Subverter, which players can level up to unlock the OG Red Dot sight from early Call of Duty titles.

The weapon has a standard slash attack, but players can also trigger a gory animation sequence where the enemy’s neck is cut twice. This makes the sword incredibly deadly, as any enemy within an arm’s distance of the player will meet their end very quickly. Pairing the sword with a ninja run can allow players to circle the enemy and slash at them from behind.

Riot Shields Have Met Their Match with the Soulrender

Riot Shields are great assets in Call of Duty games, allowing players to deflect most bullet types. However, even they fall before the keen edge of the Soulrender. Sledgehammer Games confirmed this is an intentional move on their part, making the Soulrender the only melee weapon capable of negating the Riot Shield.

Perks like Covert Sneakers (eliminates footfall sounds) or Lightweight Boots (improved movement speed) with the Soulrender are a deadly combination. It’s not all slice and dice, though; the Soulrender is a close-quarters weapon, and charging headfirst against an enemy with a gun is going to end in death.

To acquire the Soulrender, complete Sector B21 in the Season 2 Battle Pass. This new sector was just added in the Season 2 Reloaded update, giving players the chance to unlock even more cool stuff. You won’t be able to use any Battle Pass Tokens for this and will need to complete challenges such as acquiring all sector rewards.

Riot Shields are no longer the haven for some players, as others with Soulrenders will be scouring the map in search of victims. Will you be slashing your way through Season 2 with the Soulrender? Let us know in the comments below.
