In addition, players can also dive into two new 6v6 maps called Grime and Checkpoint. Grime is a brand new map for the Call of Duty franchise.

Meanwhile, Checkpoint is marked as “repurposed” as the team reused assets from Call of Duty: Warzone Rebirth Island to create this map. Not entirely new but still a fresh map to learn for 6v6 gameplay.

Checkpoint looks similar to a previous Call of Duty map as well. From Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 4, doesn’t Checkpoint look like Crossfire?

This first-person shooter franchise has been going on for over two decades now. From Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, gamers have tried the franchise at some point in their lives. Fans of a franchise obviously have their favorites and the Xbox 360 era hits home for a lot of the older player base.

With such a rich history, some maps are bound to return or look similar to old-school maps. The upcoming Season 3 Reloaded has new content players can sink their teeth into. One of the new maps, Checkpoint, has some similarities with Call of Duty 4’s Crossfire.

The maps visually both have a distinct look but the structure is close to each other. Judging by how Checkpoint is laid out, there are a bunch of buildings with a couple of open areas for long-range fights.

Crossfire was known for its open road down the middle with buildings on the left and right for close range fights to occur. The very same playstyle can apply to Checkpoint. Although there’s no long road for snipers to shoot at each other in Checkpoint, there are a decent amount of buildings and shipping crates for closer shotgun fights to occur.

Besides the two new modes and maps, Modern Warfare Zombies is also receiving an update. A new story mission, more schematics, and a new Warlord to challenge to keep the zombies mode fresh.

Call of Duty: Warzone is also receiving a pretty big update in Season 3 Reloaded, such as new perks and kill streaks. Also, players’ health is increased from 150 to 200 due to the increased number of armor plates they can carry.

All of this and more are expected to drop for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s Season 3 Reloaded mid-season update. The patch launches on May 1 at 9AM PT.
