Why have Activision decided to shut down Caldera?

Call Of Duty Warzone shut down

Making this choice was a very hard decision for Activision as a lot of players are currently not happy with the state of Warzone 2 due to numerous factors. So many players have decided to stay in Caldera, but now gamers will have to decide to continue supporting Warzone by transferring to their new game or not. The main reason that Activision has made this decision is that they want to be able to transfer their workforce over to Warzone 2.0 due to the fact they have just released Season 4 and want to try and bring more staff in to help with Season 5 as they want to make it as popular as Caldera, whilst also updating it so that players enjoy the game and try out all of their new content.

What will happen to the content in Caldera?

Call Of Duty Warzone Discontinued

For long-term players, this news is going to be a rather impactfulas many of them have been playing Caldera since the release of the game back in 2020, which is a lot of content and progress to lose once the game gets shut down, but there is some good news. This content won’t be entirely lost it will still be accessible via Modern Warfare, Vanguard and Black Ops Cold War in all of their multiplayer modes so that includes skins, Guns, levels and anything else that has been purchased in Caldera.

As of now, there is no information pointing towards any of these purchases being brought over to Warzone 2.0, but everyone can keep their fingers crossed and hope that they can bring content from Caldera into Warzone 2.0 as a lot of people have put a lot of hours and money into Caldera, and this will cause a fair bit of discourse in players.
