Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Kristen Stewart were catapulted to stardom after Twilight premiered in 2008. For 5 straight years, these three became global stars, even though the film and the franchise were derided by critics and general audiences alike. But nothing could shake the strong fandom of the franchise.
The Twilight mania or the Twilight phenomenon was something one had to live through. It was bizarre but thoroughly entertaining. Speaking of bizarre but entertaining, the three stars had weird fan stories to share that would make anyone raise their eyebrows.
A Fan Wanted Robert Pattinson To Lick Her Blood
Entertainment Tonight recently posted a throwback reel on Instagram reminding everyone of the 2008 premiere of Twilight. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner can be seen in the video answering questions from an interviewer. The host asks them about their weird fan encounters and out of all the three, it is Pattinson’s answer that definitely takes the cake.
He says,
“I know everyone is like wetting their pants. I had some girls come up to me the other day who’d pre-bitten themselves, so they were bleeding when they came up and they’re like ‘Look, we’re already bleeding, can you just lick a little bit of blood?’ And I was like, WOO!”
Hearing this would make anyone think that those fans are out of their minds. The adoration that these girls had towards the Twilight stars was unrivaled.
It won’t be too wrong to admit that even though Stewart and Lautner had immense fanbases, it is Pattinson who had the craziest of fans. While it must have been fun at premieres to interact with the hardcore fanbase, over the years he has stated that the fame from starring in the series didn’t allow him to lead a normal life.
The constant paparazzi and fan attention made him retreat and he didn’t want to share parts of his life with the public, like his relationship with ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart. It’s assumed that part of the reason why he chose to have an indie career after the Twilight Saga was to escape this stardom. While Pattinson received the worst of it, Stewart and Lautner had their fair share of shocking fan interactions.
Kristen Stewart And Taylor Lautner’s Peculiar Fan Requests During The Twilight Premiere
In the Entertainment Tonight video, Kristen Stewart said that the one strange question she has been answering all night is- “How did it feel to kiss a vampire?” She was probably asked this because fans wanted to know about her kissing experience with Robert Pattinson. After all, fans had already started imagining the two actors in a real-life relationship. It is this public intrusion that gradually made her retreat from the public sphere a lot.
But she wasn’t alone in this weirdness. Taylor Lautner got a similarly creepy interaction. At the premiere, someone asked him to sign their “Team Taylor panties.” While he doesn’t clarify if he signed them or not, it’s clear that these interactions probably cross the boundaries of what’s acceptable and what’s not. However, three of the stars have maintained over the years that they are grateful to the franchise for opening more career doors.
