The MCU is no stranger to adding and subtracting abilities from its host of heroes to fit them into the cinematic universe they are trying to construct. Of course, due to the limitation of the medium and the palate of the audience, they can’t make a film where Thor is juggling black holes and throwing out stars, even if the character has achieved bigger feats in the comics.

Red Hulk is making his long-anticipated debut in the MCU with Captain America: Brave New World. The role of the red reactor would be played by Harrison Ford, taking over the role from the late William Hurt. While the character of Red Hulk has many feats comparable to the Hulk, one of his abilities might be taken to a new extreme in the films.

Vibranium is famously one of the strongest metals in fiction. While it has its rivals in the Marvel world (like Adamantium), the metal is also notoriously difficult to forge, but it seems like that will not be an issue with Red Hulk around. The ability of the Red Hulk is similar to that of Bruce Banner’s version of the character, with one key difference.

As Bruce Banner’s version of the Hulk gets angrier, he gets stronger. However, in the case of the Red Hulk,  the character gets hotter the angrier he gets, bursting into flames hot enough to melt metal. According to X user CanWeGetSomeToast, the ability to heat up will be taken to the extent that Red Hulk will be able to melt the Vibranium wings that have been commissioned for the hero by his Wakandan allies. This is a major boost to the abilities of the Red Hulk, who seems to be sticking around after the film, which could also be a solution to the infamous villain problem that Marvel has cultivated.

Marvel could be setting up World War Hulks

As Marvel seems to be populating its universe with more and more hulks, the franchise might be headed to a Hulk-sized crossover in the future. Given that She-Hulk and Skaar have already made their debut, and Betty Ross made her appearance in What If..? Season 1, it is completely possible that Brave New World could lead directly into a Hulk-based streaming series, where we could see the various Hulks clashing for the fate of the world.

If Marvel manages to make a film on Jade Giant again, World War Hulks would be perfect for the film, given that in a post-Civil War world, the Hulk and his powers would cause a lot of damage in the wrong hands. Does that make Bruce Banner a national asset? Or is he a threat to the stability of everyday people even if he doesn’t not Hulk-out? We all know that Hulk is notoriously difficult to kill, and that is what makes his blood and powers such a menace. Because if Hulk can produce infinitely difficult-to-kill versions of himself, is he more of a threat than a hero? Only time will tell.
