Marvel Phase five planning and casting has not stopped. Among the already slated films and shows, there are rumors and announcement of more shows and films. Kevin Feige announced that Fantastic Four will release under the MCU banner during the last San Diego Comic Con in 2022. Marvel is now spreading it’s hands to another storyline and plans to incorporate it into the MCU. The CEO recently talked about the future of Fantastic Four and MCU in general in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Fantastic Four will be a big pillar of The MCU
Kevin Feige sat with EW discussing the future of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe and what plans does he have going forward. The CEO is excited about everything that is to come, and is focusing on making Fantastic Four an integral part of the MCU in the near future.
“We sort of talked about mutants and that whole aspect to the Marvel world, but Fantastic Four is the foundation for everything that came after in the comics. There’s certainly been versions of it [on screen], but never inhabiting the storytelling of the MCU. And that’s something that is really exciting for us. People will start to hear more about that soon. We plan on that being a big pillar of the MCU going forward, just the way they’ve been in the comics for 50 or 60 years.”
Based on this we can expect some Fantastic Four movies in the theatres soon enough, but will not be limited to that. In fact, once a part of the MCU, the four can keep appearing throughout the upcoming phases. Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness introduced Mister Fantastic played by John Krasinski. However, he was killed off in that film, and the character was not explored further.

After his work on WandaVision, Matt Shakman has been recruited to helm the Fantastic Four. He recently addressed casting speculations that have been floating among fans and how he supports their excitement.
He spoke to ComiBook on 7th February about the film, and potential cast and casting rumors,
“There are a lot out there, man. They really are. It’s pretty crazy. As I learned from WandaVision, too, it is so lovely to see the level of engagement that fans have with this material, because I’m a fan, too, and I have been reading Fantastic Four since I was a kid.”
“I love these characters. I love the chance that we have to bring them to the MCU and I really want to get it right and I know that everybody out there is really excited and feels passionate in the same way wanting to get it right. And so I encourage it. I think it’s great. But yeah, I have no early answers for anyone today about casting.”
Even though the director did not indulge the fans, gears having been moving as a result. Justin Kroll reported on his Twitter that Marvel is accelerating on the process to cast Sue Storm first.
