What Role Would Catherine Keener Play in Joker: Folie à Deux
The film will be set in the Arkham Asylum of Gotham City. The studio has not announced what role Gleeson and Keener will have in the film. There are still assumptions made about the role they will have in the film.
Brandan Gleeson would most probably play the warden or the security guard of the Arkham Asylum. As for Catherine Keener, she would most likely be another inmate at the asylum or a doctor attempting to treat Arthur in the film.
Zazie Beetz, who played to role of Sophie Dumond, Arthur’s neighbor in Joker, is still in negotiations to reprise her role in the sequel.
There is no official information about the plot of the film available for now. But as it features both Joker and Harley Quinn, it is believed that the film will follow the story of The Joker and Harley Quinn.
If the story follows the according to the comics, then we may see Lady Gaga as Dr. Harleen Quinzell, who attempts to treat Joker but ends up falling in love with him.
What Does Folie à Deux Mean?
The phrase used in the title of the film, “Folie à Deux” is used to describe a mental condition where two or more people start sharing delusions. A shared psychotic by two people of a group of people. Considering this, the story may follow people, including Harley Quinn getting delusional with Joker.
After his television appearance in the Joker, Arthur did have an impact on the people of Gotham City who have been suffering from the low and high standards of the city. This concept can follow up in the sequel and with the title Joker: Folie à Deux it seems possible that the people of Gotham City and asylum inmates will have some sort of impact from Arthur’s psychology.
The production for the film will start in December, and the film will be released on October 4, 2024. The film will follow up the story of the 2019 Joker, where Arthur was seen in the Arkham Asylum and will be based mostly within the asylum.
