Some fan encounters in Hollywood can simply turn into love stories:
Crushing on a celeb is human nature. Admit it, all of us have once in our lifetime dreamt of dating or marrying our favorite actor or singer. While we haven’t been so blessed to see our dreams come to reality, some fans have not only dated their Hollywood obsession but have also had a chance to put a ring on their finger.
Some strange meetings have knocked on the door of love for some stars. Here’s a record of some A-listers who found love may be at a fan greet, an interview, a musician’s concert, or through genuine fan encounters.
1. Julia Roberts and Danny Moder
The two who met on the sets of The Mexican in the year 2000 have been a happy Hollywood couple for 18 years. Moder who was Roberts’ cinematographer on her film had been a huge fan of hers long before they had met. The two are parents to three kids today.
2. Steve Harvey and Marjorie Elaine Harvey
Comedian host Steve Harvey first saw his future wife in the front row of a 1990 Memphis comedy show where he was performing. Although he didn’t know her back then, Harvey announced to Marjorie while she sat in the audience, “I don’t know who you are but I’m going to marry you.”
3. Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer
The Spiderman actor met his future wife, a jewelry designer on the sets of his oscar-nominated film Seabiscuit in 2003. The duo hit it off soon after they met and welcomed their first child in 2006. They married in 2007 and sadly split after a span of 10 years in 2017.
4. Elvis Presley and Priscilla
The King of Rock and Roll’s friend spotted a then 14-year-old Priscilla in a crowd and volunteered to acquaint her to Elvis. The two got married when Priscilla was 21 in Las Vegas around 1967. It is said to be Presley’s fame which brought strains to their relationship and caused a split in 1973.
5. Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa
While it’s till date a little controversial as to who was whos fan, Amber Rose in an interview to US Daily said that Wiz did an interview about her and was asked ‘If there was one girl in the world who would you be with?’ and he said ‘Amber Rose’. Soon after Amber hit him up on twitter and the two fell in love.
6. Christian Bale and Sibi Blažić
The two reportedly met when Blažić was working as a personal assistant to Bale’s friend Winona Ryder. The pair hit off instantly and was married to each other in no time. They’ve been together for more than 20 years now. Bale in the acceptance speech of his Academy Award in 2011 claimed to owe a lot to Blažić for his success.
7. Adam and Jackie Sandler
A true example of finding love at an unexpected place, Jacqueline Titone was playing a background role of a waitress who serves Sandler a beer in the movie ‘Big Daddy’. Adam and Jackie married on 22 June 2003, in a lavish Jewish affair in Malibu. Today, the duo is parents to two beautiful daughters.
8. Ringo Starr and Maureen Cox
Richard Starkey, better known as Ringo Starr married the love of his life when she was just 18. The drummer of the iconic boy band Beatles met Maureen when she was a trainee hairdresser in Liverpool. She met Starr at The Cavern Club, where the Beatles were playing. The duo married in 1965 and split after 10 years in ’75.
9. John Travolta and Kelly Preston
Preston and Travolta had a 29-year romance. In a 2007 interview, Kelly claimed that once she was just a fan of Travolta. As a teen, all it took Kelly was a poster of his film Grease to fall for the Saturday Night Fever star. On 12 July 2020, after a private battle with breast cancer Kelly Preston passed away.
10. Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth
After a romantic history with multiple stars, Reese Witherspoon found her beau in her agency’s talent agent Jim Toth. It was at a bar where Toth came to Reese’s rescue when he sensed her discomfort around a patron. The two started dating and tied the knot in 2011. They now have a son together.
11. Nicolas Cage and Alice Kim
A classic example of our title, Nicolas met his future wife Alice Kim at a restaurant where she was working as a waitress and was just 19. The two had an age gap of about 20 years but love sees no age. They got married n 2004 and have a son together. Unfortunately, the two split after a span of 12 years in 2016.

On their first tour in 1990, the Greenday frontman met his future wife backstage of a show when the former appeared to meet Billie for signing her copy of their album. The two dated for 4 years and spontaneously got married in Billie’s backyard in 1994. They have a 25-year-old son today and have been happily married since then.
14. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon
It was 2005 when the two met for the first time at the Teen’s Choice Awards. Nick was 25 and Carey was 35 at that time and the two clicked instantly. Mariah Carey in her music video of “Bye, Bye” featured Cannon and the sparks flew. They got married in 2008 and gave birth to twins. Sadly in a span of 8 years, they parted their ways.
15. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes
Katie Holmes confessed to having grown up with a huge poster of her future hubby Tom Cruise stuck in her room. The two stars who are 16 years age-apart started dating in 2005. Even though they’re divorced now, the duo is parents to Suri Cruise who’s 14 years old as of today.
