Chainsaw Man’s author, Fujimoto was asked in the interview, “What do you bear in mind when creating manga (e.g., personal themes and throughlines)?” to which the Mangaka cheekily replied, “I try to create scenes that readers will remember until the day they gasp their dying breaths!”, according to the Guide to Making Manga.

When Fujimoto was asked about what his thoughts were on making sure a manga was readable, he said in the Guide to Making Manga to keep “the text and explanations to a minimum.” He also offered another advice, which was more of a warning, “Don’t fall too in love with anything you do. Kill your darlings.”

Fujimoto is known for including references from a plethora of movies and media in his manga. His best advice for upcoming manga authors was to watch as much Netflix as they can.
