Channing Tatum has bagged several lead roles in numerous blockbuster movies and became one of the most loved actors of all time within little to no time of his inception in the industry. But before becoming this widely acclaimed, the White House Down star had to go through much ridiculous roles and salaries to reach the destination he currently stands at.

As per reports, Tatum got his ‘big break’ into Hollywood after starring in a cameo in one of the main sequences of Ricky Martin‘s 2000 hit song, She Bangs. In the music video, the American star can be seen dancing as a bartender at the underwater bar at some beach that Martin found.

But while the cameo in the clip cemented his status in the industry as an international star, the salary he was paid for the seven-day shoot is ridiculously low, enough to leave fans astounded. According to reports, Channing Tatum earned a mere $400 for his hard work dancing – a rather stupid amount as compared to his current net worth of $80 million!

Although the big break paid less, Channing Tatum found himself at the start of the road to his successful Hollywood debut. Getting cast into the dance musical Step Up not much later in 2006, Tatum got his breakthrough role that launched his career in the entertainment industry. Explaining how he had to learn to dance to survive following his casting in the movie, he said,

“I was a tall skinny white kid from Florida and I couldn’t dance with any of the Spanish girls at the quinceañeras. I just had to grab an abuela and be like, ‘You’ve got to help.’ And she did.”

Nevertheless, Tatum learned to dance so well that he is currently counted as one of the greatest dancers in Hollywood. He went on to star in numerous other dance musicals, and his most recent movie Magic Mike’s Last Dance too got released earlier this year. Talking about the movie that had the biggest impact on his career, Tatum said,

“I want it to be the Super Bowl of stripping. I want dancing like we’ve never been able to do in the other two movies, because we had to be honest to what the reality of that world is, which isn’t great dancing.”

For whatever it’s worth, Channing Tatum’s agreeing to appear in a cameo as a dancer in Ricky Martin’s music video at such a low salary certainly gave him the edge he needed and now he is one the most renowned stars in the entertainment industry. Now that’s commitment!
