The gaming community has mixed feelings regarding the current condition of Helldivers 2, and they are not as optimistic as they used to be. Despite all the noticeable flaws and shortcomings of the recent Escalation of Freedom update, some things are worth praising like the increased efforts in the aesthetic department.

Recent events have given the gaming community a burst of productivity and creativity to make something timely. The players are equipped with impressive armor that rarely withstands enemy attacks and proudly wear a cape as a requirement and a symbol of their allegiance to the citizens of Super Earth.

The developers of Arrowhead Game Studios have been going through a rough patch and are struggling to keep the game afloat. The game is plagued with bugs and glitches making the experience of the hardcore player base a living hell. Hackers decided to make some moves and take the opportunity to mess with the in-game tracker of the current major order in Helldivers 2.

The gaming community decided to take matters into their own hands and thought of interesting ways to spice up the in-game lore. Players have grown tired of the same routine and fighting the Second Galactic War for months without any major progress then conceptualized a new splinter and rogue faction of Helldivers that started to rebel against the Ministry of Truth.

Capes symbolize a player’s unwavering loyalty and allegiance to the people of Super Earth as they fight for freedom and liberty. From a game development perspective, it is a perfect excuse for alternate cosmetic items and customization features; however, not everyone is a fan of it and hopes Arrowhead Game Studios would add a feature to remove them.

Players seized the chance to design a new colorful cape that represents the new Chaosdivers, and it reminded the player base of the previous fiasco caused by Sony Interactive Entertainment and the PlayStation Network. These capes can do more than represent a player’s ideals and beliefs, they serve as a reminder of past transgressions and how they impacted the community.

Arrowhead Game Studios announced a new cape to commemorate the community’s victory against the publisher’s mandate and fans are still clinging to hope that it may see the light of day. Hopefully, the game developers will keep their promise and not undermine the value of this cosmetic item.

Players have high expectations for the game. Capes are nothing groundbreaking and can be easily overlooked as another piece of clothing for a player to wear on the battlefield; however, the iconography and representation matter and can speak volumes.

There is no telling when this Helldivers 2 PSN cape will be released, fans are still hoping it will come out sooner rather than later. That cape will remind everyone of what transpired in the past few months and serve as a lesson.

Capes can make a player look and feel cool. Hopefully, the studio will focus more on this particular cosmetic piece.
