Have you ever laughed so hard that you actually peed your pants? Well, sometimes the joke is too good to ‘hold it in.’ That is exactly what happened with one of the most amazing actresses in the film industry – Charlize Theron. Charlize Theron was part of the ensemble for the 2018 crime comedy film, Gringo.
She was joined by actor David Oyelowo and this was their first time meeting each other. Now, Charlize Theron had a preconceived notion of David Oyelowo being a serious actor. However, she was soon proven wrong during a dinner where the actor made her laugh so hard she actually peed herself. How’s that for an embarrassing first encounter?
When Charlize Theron Peed Her Pants
Back in 2018, Charlize Theron, David Oyelowo, and Joel Edgerton made an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden to promote Gringo. James Corden pointed out that this was the first time Theron and Oyelowo met each other and asked them if they immediately got along. The question caused the three guests to erupt in laughter as if all of them were aware of the hilarious story that was going to be shared next.
Theron went ahead to describe their first interaction and how she made an unforgettable impression on Oyelowo.
“Well, it was interesting because I am a massive fan of David’s work but I know him as a serious actor. So, you know, this is a comedy and he plays a very funny character in this. And I had never really seen him be funny. So the first night we got to Mexico, if I had any doubts, they were put to sleep because we were in a restaurant and he started telling a story and I kept saying, ‘You have to stop,’ and he wouldn’t stop. And he kept going with the story until I actually urinated myself.”
As a result, Theron had to rush back to her hotel, leaving her co-stars confused. Oyelowo chimed in recalling that the actress just sat there startled before running out. He then looked at the chair that Theron was sitting on and was absolutely shocked. Theron added, “It was a full blown…” before Oyelowo interrupted her stating, “there was evidence.”
While they didn’t reveal the hilarious story that made Theron pee her pants, Oyelowo stated that it was a twenty-minute story about someone butchering his last name. We cannot imagine how embarrassing it must have been for Theron! Well, at least she’s laughing about it now.
David Oyelowo Says Charlize Theron Curses a Lot
This was not the only funny story to come out of Gringo. In an interview with E! News, Oyelowo opened up about what he thought was the most shocking thing about Theron. The actor stated that since Theron is so elegant, he would’ve never taken her to be someone who swears a lot. And by a lot, we mean a lot!
“She’s pretty foul-mouthed. That’s something from day one I was like, ‘Wow!’ Especially because she’s so debonair and elegant, and then she has the mouth of the sailor. But I love her for the fact that she’s always 100 percent herself. She’s one of the bravest people I know.”
Theron herself admitted to being foul-mouthed stating that she is a “big lover” of the f-word. She added, “There are variations of it, mothef**ker, f**k you. There are many variations you can go with. I tend to say it under my breath.” However, Theron has set some boundaries about where and when she can curse as she prefers keeping herself in check around her children.
