Hollywood is not just about the celebration of great movies and performances and other categories that several award ceremonies intend to recognize. Golden Raspberry Awards, a parody of the celebration of best of what Hollywood produces, has something for the movies that fail to get minimal appreciation from critics and fans.
Golden Raspberry Awards or simply The Razzies has unveiled the nomination of the worst movies and performances. Chris Evans and Ana de Armas’ chemistry in Ghosted made it to the list in three categories.
Chris Evans and Ana de Armas’ Shine At The Razzies
While Expend4bles leads at the 44th Golden Raspberry Awards with seven nods in several categories, Chris Evans and Ana de Armas’ flunked Ghosted chemistry shined at the parody awards nominations. Ghosted director Dexter Fletcher was somehow saved from the humiliation, but one of the worst movie chemistry of the year was far from going unnoticed by the voters.
The Ghosted duo appeared in three categories. Evans got the Worst Actor nod alongside The Pope’s Exorcist star and Oscar winner Russell Crowe, Fast X lead Vin Diesel, Meg 2: The Trench (also nominated for Worst Picture) star Jason Statham, and Mercy’s Jon Voight (also an Oscar winner). Accompanying Johnny & Clyde’s Megan Fox, Salma Hayek (Magic Mike’s Last Dance), The Mother star Jennifer Lopez, Shazam! Fury of the Gods actor and Oscar winner Dame Helen Mirren, de Armas secured the nod in the Worst Actress category.
Further, the duo also nabbed a nomination in the World Screen Couple category for their weary chemistry in Ghosted.
Chris Evans and Ana de Armas’ Road To Razzies
While the duo was almost confident in their roles promising the best of entertainment during their promotional tour, the release of the movie shattered all those expectations. Fans and critics bashed the movie for the lack of almost everything an entertainer should possess, especially the chemistry between the leads.
But the duo believed in the project, “I loved every moment of you know watching him trip and stumble and roll down the hill and all of that swallowing rocks and it was really cool,” de Armas told ET on their promotional campaign.
“I did love the dynamic I loved that you know the reversing the roles and the expectations of what an action movie should be like and who carries a film in the sense of that you know the strength and being in control,” she added.
Joining the conversation, Captain America star said “It’s nice to play someone who has far less capabilities than someone like Captain America.” But in moments of panic “has a very human reaction nothing about coal is cool you know he goes he goes to pieces, um, but it’s endearing.”
However, the Apple TV Plus movie was far from endearing for fans or critics as it slowly paved the way for the duo to the road to The Razzies. Ghosted also stars Adrien Brody, Lizze Broadway, while Ryan Reynolds appeared in a cameo as de Armas’ ex with an eye patch. Ghosted is available to stream on Apple TV Plus. The winners of the 44th annual Razzies will be announced on March 9.
