This moment, while being an emotionally driven one, was made all the more special when his fellow star Robert Downey Jr. decided to praise him for that exact shot.

For more than a decade now, Thor has been one of the founding pillars of the MCU, and Australian actor Chris Hemsworth has done an impeccable job of bringing the character to life all this time. Thus, being the face of the character, he has gone through the same emotions that the God of Thunder has, which ought to leave some lasting memories from his time playing the character in the films.

The one that stands out to him the most has to be the emotional breakdown that Thor goes through when he’s coming up with a plan. What made it even more special was the empathy that his co-star showed him after it was shot.

In a past interview with Josh Horowitz on his Happy, Sad, Confused Podcast, the Extraction star talked about his journey in the MCU so far and what the future had in store for him and his character. Here, he also talked about Avengers: Endgame, where he said that the aforementioned scene was his favorite, and Robert Downey Jr. was the reason.

He revealed that since all of the emotions and memories of the past decade came rushing in when he performed that scene, it felt like a very significant achievement, something that even RDJ empathized with while praising him at the same time. He said:

“And I think it ended with me saying, ‘I want a Bloody Mary,’ to Downey, and he said to me, ‘How do you feel?’I said, ‘Yeah, I forgot, it’s pretty special. Every now and then, a little like… a few times in your career, you have little moments where you hit the bullseye and it’s like… you’re in the sweet spot.’ And he said, ‘Oh, enjoy it.’ And… I really appreciated that, because I definitely felt something special about that moment… but who am I to judge, you know? And so, to have the godfather lean over and say, ’Well done, son…'”

Therefore, this special moment became even more significant in Hemsworth’s journey as Thor in the franchise.
