Chris Hemsworth earned a lot of his fame from his spectacular performance as Thor Odinson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and there is no doubt about it. But with the gradual passing of time, the storyline and quality of the God of Thunder’s movies have considerably deteriorated, with the most recent sequel, Love and Thunder, being ranked the worst of all four.
However, a recent update about a deleted scene regarding a fan-favorite character being turned into Valkyrie’s girlfriend and the Queen of New Asgard from the 2022 movie has popped up, and it’s worth contemplating if this change in storyline might have stopped the fourth Odinson movie from falling into such a dreadful fate.

New Thor 4 Updates Show A Startling Revelation
Although Chris Hemsworth did an epic job of playing the original Mjolnir yielder all these years, it seems that the God of Thunder’s time in the franchise is now up. However, a recent update of the fourth sequel has raised speculation about whether the disastrous movie could’ve been better. Here’s what was posted on Twitter regarding the same:

For those who don’t know: Lady Sif is Thor’s closest childhood friend who, together with the Warrior’s Three, has embarked on several escapades in the nine realms. She showed up in major roles in the first movie and the sequel, The Dark World, but was given a minor role in the recent fourth part.
The question at hand here is – Had Taika Waititi included this Valkyrie-Sif part in the official storyline of the movie, would Thor: Love and Thunder have been saved? Here’s what fans have to say.

Fans Take On This New Storyline Reveal
Following this revelation, some MCU fans are of the opinion that Waititi should’ve followed this storyline instead, which might have made the movie more than just ‘worth watching’.

Idk why they did sif dirty all these years. Honestly she had a better role in AOS than she did in the McU movies. Excepted to see why she was gone during ragnarok in love and thunder but they just turned her into a joke lol

Thor 4 continues to disappoint even after release, should have been kept.

Other fans, however, prefer sticking more to the original storyline of Jaimie Alexander‘s character in the comics, which portrays her as the elder Odinson’s wife and bearer of his child. Enraged at this revelation, some even believe that had they included this deleted scene in the movie, it would’ve been ‘horrible’ and ‘unnecessary’.
Taika Waititi really has never read a single Thor comic, has he? (It’s a rhetorical question; he clearly hasn’t.) He really just does everything to piss off the comic-book (and mythology) fans. Sif is Thor’s wife and the mother of his children. F4ck this movie.

By ”they” you mean Waititi? Same goes for killing off Warriors 3 to make room for terrible new cast like the drunktard slave-trader, a self-insert of the director made of bad CGI, and a mute bug. Also, making Sif gay is doing her dirty; she’s supposed to be in love with Thor.
— Nolanstellar (@NOLANSTELL) September 5, 2023
Considering Sif is Thor’s main love interest in the comics and Norse mythology, I’d say it was a good call removing that.

That would be too forced. Am glad it didn’t happen
— ❤ (@wenzelsgirl) September 5, 2023
That would have been horrible and unnecessary

Judging from all the fans’ views and the majority of them listing removing this story from the film as a good idea, it seems that there was absolutely nothing but a complete change of the storyline from its childish Waititi version that could’ve saved the movie from being such an epic flop.
