A Dungeons & Dragons session is made to simulate an adventure, rewarding players with in-game loot and lore, and enriching the time that is put into the game by the Dungeon Master and players alike. But the session itself can feel like a reward at the end of an arduous adventure too. Every Dungeons & Dragons player is familiar with the arduous process of scheduling the next session. Funnily, enough, this seems to be the case for the Dungeons & Dragons film too.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves star Chris Pine is “pretty” sure that a second film is bound to happen, he is just not sure when which echoes how Dungeons & Dragons usually ends up working out in real life. Unless it’s your day job, like it is for the cast of Critical Role, it’s difficult to find the time for D&D, as fans have made it painfully obvious while talking about Pine’s comments online.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Sequel is already relatable to fans

As Pine’s comment on the sequel gained more traction on social media, fans couldn’t help but seize the opportunity to draw parallels between the sequel and the tabletop role-playing game, leaving more than one user in splits.

Jokes have been pouring out on the internet as fans bust a gut laughing at the situation of the sequel. Of course, given the $207 million earing at the box office on its 150 million dollar budget, an official announcement is yet to confirm that there will be a second Dungeons & Dragons film (which would also be accurate to how some sessions of D&D go).

So, what’s next for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves?

Currently, Dungeons & Dragons is slated to get a TV series for Paramount+, considered to be a “cornerstone” live-action IP. Of course, this is only with regards to Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, given that the Dungeons & Dragons TV series is already airing on other platforms, such as The Legend of Vox Machina, based on the D&D sessions of the Critical Role live streams, which, while following the D&D model, is a completely separate IP.

Speaking with Polygon, John Francis Daley, co-director of the film, said that the character that will be continued with will be the same one that is introduced in Honor Among Thieves if there is to be a sequel. Speaking to Variety, Paramount CEO Brian Robbins said that a sequel would have to be much cheaper given the disappointing box office results of the film.
