Chris Pratt’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie Dominated John Wick: Chapter 4

When it was announced that Chris Pratt was going to voice Mario in an upcoming animated movie, people made memes and jokes about the actor being everywhere. The people mocked the actor and expected the movie to fail miserably at the box office since it was essentially an adaptation of one of the most popular games of all time.

With a simple plotline to save the world from Bowser, Mario takes the help of Luigi and Princess Peach to take on the fight. Well, what more could be expected from a game with jumps and castles? This turned out to be different than what the people expected since The Super Mario Bros. movie dominated the global box office in its opening weekend.

According to statistics, The Super Mario Bros. movie made a whopping $377 on opening weekend at the global box office. Surprisingly enough, the Keanu Reeves starrer John Wick: Chapter 4 earned only $259.3 million at the global box office! Well, maybe people prefer animated wholesome movies over action scenes and ruthless violence or maybe they just needed a break. Either way, it seems that The Super Mario Bros. movie is on its way to becoming a blockbuster as the reviews of the film are quite compelling.
