The 52-year-old filmmaker, Christopher Nolan is ready with his new project, Oppenheimer which revolves around American scientist, J. Robert Oppenheimer and his contribution to the development of the atomic bomb.

With Cillian Murphy reuniting with the filmmaker to portray the titular role, the ensemble cast in this project features Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, and Robert Downey Jr. among several others. He is known for his complex storylines that make his film a delight for the eyes, delving deep into a character is also something he is quite skilled at.

In the new issue of Total Film magazine via GamesRadar, he gave an insight into his lead character’s complexities stating that he’s “drawn to interesting protagonists – protagonists who have ambiguity to them.”

He also threw light on the scientist’s ambiguous and paradoxical nature.

“I think of any character I’ve dealt with, Oppenheimer is by far the most ambiguous and paradoxical. Which, given that I’ve made three Batman films, is saying a lot.”

Given that the filmmaker has already worked on some of the fan-favorite classic characters of his creation, throwing such a fact on fans means the upcoming film has something up on its sleeve.

Given that the new film is already making quite a round on the Internet, it has proven that the film is another anticipated project of this year. With Nolan already hinting about the upcoming glimpse of his new character, it would have taken a great deal to perfectly execute it on the screen with his vision.

The filmmaker has also unveiled the runtime of the upcoming biographical film which is the “longest” in his filmography history.

“It’s slightly longer than the longest we’ve done,” he says. “It’s kissing three hours.” 

His sci-fi film, Interstellar previously held the record of being his longest runtime film which was 2 hours and 49 minutes. Believing his statement, it seems that the upcoming film snatched the position of the $773 million grossed film.
